Lancers International School celebrates Annual Sports Meet
Lancers International School held its annual Sports Day at the school playground on February 10 and February 17, 2017. The Sports Day for PYP and MYP/DP was held on February 10 and February 17 respectively.
Gurgaon: Lancers International School held its annual Sports Day at the school playground on February 10 and February 17, 2017. The Sports Day for PYP and MYP/DP was held on February 10 and February 17 respectively.
The event opened with a warm welcome accorded to the Chief Guest and an opening speech by the School Principal. This was followed by the march past and a pledge taken by the school captains. The meet kick-started with enthralling performance by cheerleaders and the presentations in gymnastics and taekwondo.
Some of the other activities that the students participated in included 100mtr/200mtr Sprints, 50mX4/100mX4 Relay race 50/100 meter Hurdles, Obstacle race and Shuttle run. Parents and teachers also participated in several events. The playground was decorated with balloons, flags and banners, and clear demarcations were made on the field for various events, to mark the occasion. The air was filled with infectious enthusiasm and energy.
On the occasion, Mr. Rohit Mann, Director, Lancers International School said, “By its very nature, sports is about participation. It provides a forum to learn skills such as discipline, confidence and leadership and imbibe core principles such as tolerance, cooperation and respect.
Sports teaches the value of effort and how to handle victory, as well as defeat. Sports bring individuals and communities together, highlighting commonalities and bridging cultural or ethical divide and this is what Lancers International School is all about. And what better way for the Lancerian family to come together and spend the day filled with fun and excitement.”
The event concluded with the prize distribution ceremony and the school anthem- the Lancerian Song.
