Bangalore: From incredible models of holograms, microbial fuel, a transport pod based on Hyperloop, the generation of electricity from fruit juices, cooked rice with unbreakable starch for Diabetics to various other innovative concepts, INVENIO 2017 witnessed a confluence of scientific ideas to tackle pertinent global issues. The students of Greenwood High International School celebrated scientific innovation at INVENIO 2017- a science exhibition were students presented the scientific marvels of the world. The event held at its Sarjapur campus was centered on the theme “Technology for Challenges”.

The exhibition saw a curation of ideas by the young and budding scientists that could possibly reshape the future. The intense applications of science were evident as students passionately exhibited their views and ideas based on the theme. Complete with a diverse set of projects and models on display, the tech- savvy students made Invenio a huge success. The exhibition also proved as a platform for the students to understand the fundamentals of these innovations and learn the technicality of their applications.

The IB students also exhibited their G4 project where they demonstrated knowledge of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science and Design Technology. The exhibition saw incredible models of sustainable farming and mosquito repellent made using Citronella. Middle school and Grade 9 students also presented various models and projects, such as Pacemakers, rayon fibres, RFID readers, model GPS, a light sensing robot, radioactive proof headgears and bionic limbs and arms for blind, being the majorly appreciated ones amongst the others.

Ms. Niru Agarwal, Trustee, Greenwood High International School, said, “Scientific innovation is the foundation of the future and it can change the way that we live. Models displayed at the exhibition show that academics should not be restricted to books, but also allow for practical application of concepts. This exhibition was organized to stimulate scientific curiosity in the students through practical application and help them delve deeper to understand the technicalities of innovation. Students have put in a lot of effort in preparing the projects. It is good to see that their ideas are new and different. Greenwood High has always encouraged ‘hands-on-learning’ as it helps develop critical thinking skills among the students. INVENIO 2017 provided them yet another platform to successfully showcase their creativity and academic brilliance.”
