Gurgaon: Suncity World School celebrated Mothers’ Day as an expression of gratitude towards mothers. The event kickstarted with the lighting of the lamp by Chief Guest and a renowned educationist, Abha Adams, Advisor, Step by Step School. This was followed by a welcome speech by head girl Shriya Nayyar. The heart-touching rendition of the song ‘Motherhood-Sublime Eternal’ enthralled the audience. A dance drama ‘Kaundh’ also captivated the audience.
“Our institution strongly believes in mother’s role being crucial for a child’s upbringing. We commemorate this special day to express gratitude towards all mothers for their compassion and sacrifices. We also observe investiture ceremony on this day to inculcate leadership qualities in students and make their mothers proud,” said Ms. Rupa Chakravarty, Principal, Suncity School.
There could have been no better occasion than this day to felicitate the newly appointed student council. To give them a feel of functioning of the administrative body, the council members were appointed and given their portfolios.
The post holders were introduced and badges were pinned onto them by their respective mothers. The chief guest Abha Adams administered the oath and lit the flame of duty. Class toppers of the session 2016-17 were also felicitated on this occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Guest Abha Adams said: “Children are greatest joy of parents. Everyone should strive to remain in the company of the parents as long as they can.
