Embarking on the idea of widening its outreach programme with the aim of inspiring the youth of today to follow in the footsteps of Jamsetji N. Tata, the Tata Central Archives (TCA) organised a moving exhibition at -Delhi Public school, Khajaguda on Monday.

Hyderabad: Embarking on the idea of widening its outreach programme with the aim of inspiring the youth of today to follow in the footsteps of Jamsetji N. Tata, the Tata Central Archives (TCA) organised a moving exhibition at -Delhi Public school, Khajaguda on Monday.

The Exhibition was inaugurated by Vinayak K Deshpande, Managing Director of Tata Projects Limited along with V Rajanna, Vice President and Regional Head TCS, and Geetha, Principal Delhi Public School (DPS), Khajaguda.

SR Venkatesan of Tata Advanced Systems, PK Ghose, Director Tata Services, Don Doongaji and Rajendra Prasad Narla of Tata Central Archives also graced the occasion.
The inauguration was preceded by a floral tribute to the Founder. Speaking on the occasion Vinayak said “One needs to visualize the circumstances in 1868, to truly appreciate Jamsetji’s contribution. He had immensely shaped India’s growth and its industrialization, impacting generations.”

Rajanna quoted Jamsetji N Tata’s saying “In a free enterprise, the community is not just another stakeholder in business, but is in fact the very purpose of its existence”.

He also highlighted Tata’s contribution to business and society. The exhibition is being anchored by DPS school students.

This exhibition which is specifically designed for school and college students, is a medium through which TCA, intends to inspire the young generation to follow in the footsteps of JamsetjiN Tata, who by his vision, perseverance and love for his country, opened a new chapter in Indian industry.

The display area is divided into four sections, which highlight the enterprises started by Jamsetji as well as his work in the field of education, environment and welfare reforms. This exhibition was previously taken to Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Navsari, Nagpur and Bangalore.

The Exhibition at Hyderabad is presented in a bi-lingual format i.e. English and Telugu. It will be open until December 2. Entry for school and college groups is through pre-booked timeslots, a few of which have already been reserved. Opening timing is as follows November 27 to 30 from - 9.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. (Schools / Colleges / General Public) Dec 1 &2 from 10 a.m. to 2p.m. (For Tata Employees / Group companies)
