Three non-engineers bag the perfect score in CAT

This year, 20 candidates of the 1.9 lakh ones who took the CAT 2017 have scored 100 percentile. Interestingly, two girls and three non-engineers bagged the perfect score and cracked the exam with a 100 percentile.

A tutor from Mumbai, Patrick D'Souza got a 100 percentile for the fourth time this year. Having made the first attempt of CAT in 1996, Patrick failed to get an IIM call and joined a corporate firm after pursuing his MBA from Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies.

He, however, quit his job four years later to get into teaching and has been training a small group of students for CAT.

An IIT-Delhi graduate, Chhavi Gupta is one of the two women who made it to the elite club of CAT. Beginning her preparation in March, Gupta worked and kept the studying for the weekends giving several mock tests.

Two more candidates cracked CAT with the perfect score from Mumbai, both final-year engineering students from IIT-Bombay. A Thane resident, Arvind Menon, has decided to give IIM a miss after bagging a trading job in Amsterdam during the campus placements.

Mayank Raj, originally from Hajipur in Bihar plans to wait for the IIM call after his interviews and make the final choice while also having an offer from a leading Indian bank.

Students from the premier Powai institute and other engineering institutes such as the VJTI scored above 99 percentile this year.

Meet Agarwal from Ahmedabad, Vishal Vora from Kolkata, Sai Praneeth Reddy from IIT-Madras, Madhur Gupta, a student of Delhi Technical University, Rajesh Balasubramanium from Chennai's coaching class faculty and Avdipto Chakraborty, from Kolkata also cracked the test.
