The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) results were released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) today. The answer key for NEET 2018 exam was released on May 25 while the candidates were given time till May 27 to raise objections on the answer keys. 13.26 lakh candidates registered for the NEET exam this year

Conducted on May 6, the NEET exam is the single window exam conducted for admissions to MBBS and BDS seats in all medical and dental colleges across the country, apart from AIIMS and JIPMER.

From this year, NEET will also be applicable for the admissions to AYUSH courses in the country.

NEET 2018 result can be checked on the official website for CBSE - at cbseneet.nic.in, cbseresults.nic.in.

Based on the NEET result, the CBSE issues separate rank letters and an all-India merit list. The candidates who have secured a specified cut-off percentile (50th percentile for General Category and 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC candidates) are awarded All India ranks.

Eligible candidates who opted for AIQ admissions will be listed in a separate AIQ list on the basis of the NEET 2018 Result.

The rank letters are expected to be released in the first week of June 2018.

The NEET Counselling for both All India Quota Seats conducted by Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) as well as State level Counselling will be held by individual state counseling authorities with participation from candidates who qualify NEET.

They can register themselves for All India Quota Counselling online. While AIQ counseling is scheduled to start from June 12, the registrations will begin shortly after the NEET 2018 results.

The counseling across different states is likely, to begin with, the release of applications from the second week of June.

The admissions to different medical colleges are, however, granted on the basis of NEET Merit list and NEET cut-off for admission.
