Music, both instrumental and vocal has again getting momentum at schooling, college and university level in the state and also become as a career oriented course. Visakhapatnam: Music, both instrumental and vocal has again getting momentum at schooling, college and university level in the state and also become as a career oriented course. The successful masters in both instrumental and vocal are earning good income as faculty and also performers in the concerts. The parents are supporting the children to learn music and sending them to acquire qualifications in certificate, diploma, graduation and PG programmes in the music courses.
After the western music almost replaced the Indian classical music and rapid change in the education system, the Indian branded classical music lost its charisma since 80s. Running towards job oriented and other professional courses, there was very less response from the parents and students to learn the music.
Thanks to the Indian popular singer Dr SP Balasubrahmanyam's successful programme ‘Padutha Teeyaga’ both boys and girls again started learning music at all levels. After the ‘Padutha Teeyaga’ programme, the parents, changing their mind-set and encouraging their children as singers and other instrumental artists.
Meanwhile, not only in the glamour filed, the musicians are also getting employment in the TV Channels, private companies and honourary musicians to some Multi National Companies. Some of the organizations have also organising series of programmes to ensure good and periodical revenues to the musicians. Some of the NRIs and associations also arranging annual music programmes at various Nations.
With this, not only universities and government music colleges, the music teachers are also opening the institutions and shaping the young minds in the music programmes.
"There is a big change in the parent’s mindset. After revolutionary change in the media, the students are also paying much interest to learn the music. The SPB's 'Padhutha Teeyaga' most successful programme, there is a visible change in learning music.
The parents are also paying their time and efforts and bringing their children to the music classes regularly. The parents also asking us to take their children to the concerts at various level," noted music teacher and mentor P.Alivelu Mangatayaru opined.
Not only music teachers, the other supportive artists on Tabala, Veena, Harmomium, Flute and other instruments are also getting good demand in the sector. Some of the IT companies and other MNCs have also arranging periodical classical music concerts on various occasions.
