​Hyderabad: Malla Reddy Engineering College (MREC) (Autonomous) hosted the prestigious two-day international conference ICTIEE 2019, in association with Indo Universal Collaboration for Engineering Education (IUCEE) at the inaugural session on Monday. ‘This conference is a blend of deliberations on teaching Learning Methodologies, Entrepreneurship, Industry revolution 4.0 and emerging technologies like AI, Machine Learning etc’ remarked Principal, S Sudhakara Reddy.
He welcomed all the dignitaries and delegates to the sixth International Conference on Transformations in Engineering Education Bhadra Reddy, President, MRGI and Preethi, MD, MRIMS explained the measures taken by the Malla Reddy Health City to address the cause of Social responsibility and to fulfill the ambition of ‘Health for all’.
The chief guest of the occasion, M P Poonia, Vice-Chairman, AICTE congratulated the college for hosting such a large scale conference. He appreciated the efforts put in by the management, Principal, staff and students. He stressed upon the measures to be adopted for transforming an engineering student into an employable product. He emphasized on the importance practical oriented curriculum design.
The special guest Palla Rajeshwar Reddy, Whip, Telangana State Government and MLC explained the transformation from teacher centric learning to student centric learning. He urged the participants to understand the importance of skill development in the present generation students.
Valedictory ceremony
The conference addressed diversified issues like the emerging technologies, Industrial revolution 4.0, and teaching and learning methodologies, entrepreneurship etc remarked Principal, Dr. S. Sudhakara Reddy in his address during the valedictory ceremony of the prestigious two-day International conference ICTIEE 2019. He thanked Prof Krishna Vedula, Executive Director, and IUCEE for having motivated about 35 internationally acclaimed stalwarts from academia and industry to attend the conference. He thanked the associates of IUCEE Mr. Kantha Reddy and Sridhar Nori for the cooperation and coordination.
He thanked the Director, Praveen Reddy, Secretary Mahender Reddy and the founder chairman Ch Malla Reddy for their support in building the required infrastructure for conducting such a huge conference. He added that the faculty can update and upgrade their knowledge on continuously evolving skill set by attending such conferences and help their students back home in their colleges.
Prof Hans J Hoyer, Secretary GEDC applauded the hospitality and the personal touch shown by the organising college in taking good care of the delegates of the conference. He urged that nations like India should be a part of global community. Michael Milligan, CEO, ABET explored the scope for excellence in engineering education in India. Guest of honour Sujiv Nair, CEO TASK explained the strategies adopted by TASK in making a student, employable. He remarked that the 60% of the trained students are getting placed in various organisations.
B V R Mohan Reddy, Chairman Cyient Ltd, was the chief guest of the occasion. He said that the industry is looking for highly talented and skilled students. He explained how the modern technology can be used in empowering the conventional system like agriculture by using Drone technologies. Founder chairman and MLA Medchal constituency thanked all the delegates for having come all the way to make the conference a grand success. The ceremony concluded with all the delegates singing the national anthem.
