AP, Telangana hit with heat wave

As the harsh summer has begun, the effect has been the most in the Telugu states - Andhra Pradesh and Telangana with the mercury soaring to 40 degrees in many places. Due to the delayed monsoon, the temperature is likely to rise further.

Reports suggest that more than 60 people have succumbed to death due to the heat and the state government is putting up shelter and drinking water facilities at various places. Even the official working hours have been adjusting accordingly in order to avoid maximum exposure to the Sun.
