Hyderabad: The Telugu Desam Party promises a perfect ‘Ugadi Pachchadi’ for the people of Seemandhra and Telangana if it is voted to power.

The party, which will be releasing its manifesto on Monday, has decided to incorporate all the promises made by TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu during his ‘Vastunna Mee Kosam’ padayatra.

The TDP politburo, which met here on Sunday, focused on the issues before the new state of Telangana and decided to promise development in a fast-forward mode in the new state. As far as the residual state is concerned, its top priority is reconstruction of Andhra Pradesh from scratch.

The manifesto will promise waiver of crop loans and loans availed by women of Self-Help Groups, increase of retirement age from 58 to 60, unemployment dole of Rs 2,000 to youth and old age pension of Rs 1,000, 24-hour power supply for domestic purposes and ninehour free power for agriculture, 20 litres of mineral water for Rs 2 to weaker sections under NTR Sujala scheme, reservation in education and jobs for Kapu community and allocation of Rs 500 crore in State budget for welfare of Brahmins.

Other promises which the TDP is likely to make in its manifesto are: Exerting pressure on the Centre for 33 per cent reservations for BCs in local bodies, 33 per cent reservation while filling nominated posts, 50 per cent reservation in local bodies, separate sub-plan for BCs by allocating a minimum amount of Rs 10,000 crore, categorisation of SCs and implementation of SC/ST sub-plan in an effective manner.

The manifesto will also promise free education to the children of tribals from KG to PG, Rs 50,000 to ST brides, two acres of land to landless STs and construction of houses for them. Naidu is also set to announce a tribal university and special dole to unemployed ST youth.

As part of the plan to woo Muslims, TDP will announce Rs 2,500 crore State budgets and will promise to give Rs 5 lakh interest-free loan to Muslim youth to start business.
