The Telangana Rashtra Samithi on Wednesday sprung a surprise by roping in Tollywood hero Allu Arjun’s father-in-law Kancherla Chandrasekhar Reddy as its candidate for Ibrahimpatnam Assembly segment in upcoming elections. It is learnt that he seriously lobbied for Congress ticket from Miryalguda segment, which did not work out, and ultimately he settled for TRS. Chandrasekhar, who hails from Peddavoora mandal in Nalgonda district, is also the chairman of Scient Institute of Technology in Ibrahimpatnam, Ranga Reddy district. His daughter Sneha Reddy married Allu Arjun in 2011. Although TRS party officially announced Chandrasekhar Reddy’s candidature by way of a press statement only in the evening, his name was flashed in all news channels since morning. Now the buzz in political circles is whether Allu Arjun will campaign for him or not. Allu Arjun is nephew of actor-turned-politician and Union Minister K Chiranjeevi.
