Krishnaiah faces brunt of dissidence

Hyderabad: BC leader R Krishnaiah, who is considered to be the TDP choice for the Chief Minister post in T should it come to power, was attacked at Saroonagar here when he went to file his nomination for L B Nagar constituency. The attackers damaged his car, and in the melee, he also suffered minor injuries. Police, however, managed to rescue him and chased away the assailants. Krishnaiah recently joined the TDP. The TDP's alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has led to resentment in certain sections of the party with protests taking place outside the residence of TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu. The TDP activists are unhappy with the leadership for leaving several seats considered their stronghold to the BJP. In Nalgonda also, the TDP office was ransacked by the supporters of leaders who were denied tickets.
