Narendra Modi married: Affidavit declares

Ahmedabad: Narendera Modi, whom the common masses has perceived as a celibate for over two decades was actually married at one time. In an affidavit filed along with the nomination papers from Vadodra, he has, mentioned ‘Jashodaben’ in the column for spouse.

In the past whenever he had filed his papers he used to leave the spouse field blank. The Congress had had a field day questioning him about his marital status in the 2012 elections. However, this time he has decided to mention her, but has categorically denied that he has no information about her financial assets and legal details like PAN number etc.

Mr. Modi has always chosen to remain quiet whenever questioned about his alleged wedding to Jashodaben, a retired school teacher, when he was just seventeen years old. The lady in question had recently given a statement to a newspaper that the marriage only lasted three years and they lost all contact after that.

It is alleged that Mr. Modi kept this marriage under the carpet, as it would come in the way of his ambitious project of reaching the highest ranks of BJP. It is a known fact that RSS, are BJP’s ideology mentors and do not hold workers who get married in high esteem. This fact came to light in a biography on Nraendra Modi written by Nilanjan Mukhopadhyay.

There are unconfirmed reports that a magazine had tracked Jashodaben in 2009, and tried to contact her in the school where she was teaching. But she refused to comment, fearing a backlash from her now powerful husband. Recently, she had commented in an interview that she always knew that he would be the Prime Minister of this country one day.

Last reports on her have stated that she continues to live a solitary life, with her brother in a village in the West of Gujarat and gets a government pension of Rs.14000.

Mr. Modi has opened a new jar of questions regarding his personal life, after filing his papers in Vadodra yesterday.

Congress General Secretary Mr. Digvijaya Singh was quick to tweet this morning-

"Modi accepts his Marital Status. Can Women of this Country trust a Man who stalks a woman, deprives his wife of her right? Vote against Modi (sic)."
