Balasani, Nama groups clash

Khammam: MLC Balasani Lakshminarayana on Wednesday expressed his displeasure at the TDP leadership ignoring BCs in the allotment of MLA tickets. He alleged that the party was giving importance to only one community. Addressing the media at his residence here, Balasani alleged that MP Nama Nageswara Rao had prevailed upon the party leadership to cancel the MLA ticket that was allotted to him. He said the party leadership had promised the Kothagudem ticket to him initially but went back on its word at the last minute. Balasani said the ‘B Form’ was given to Koneru Satyanarayana contrary to the assurances given to him earlier.

Meanwhile, Nama Nageswara Rao came to Balasani’s residence to placate him when the press conference was in progress. Balasani’s supporters raised slogans demanding the MP to leave immediately, resulting in a clash between the supporters of both leaders. When Balasani did not allow him to enter into the house, Nama Nageswara Rao left the place.

Party office attacked

Nalgonda: TDP cadre ransacked the party office here in protest against the allotment of Nalgonda Assembly seat to the BJP. They questioned the party leadership as to how it could take a unilateral decision to allot the seat to the BJP. Supporters of TDP constituency in-charge Kancharla Bhupal Reddy attacked the party office. They uprooted the party flags and destroyed the furniture. Though the TDP was not in power in the constituency, they had been keeping the party intact, but Chandrababu Naidu meted out gross injustice to the leaders, they said. Bhupal Reddy had been providing support and guidance to them for the last four years and it was unfair to allot the seat to the BJP, they said. The BJP would not get a single vote other than those of its workers, they said. At Munugodu also, TDP workers expressed their anger at the allotment of seat to BJP instead of party leader Karnati Venkateswarlu.
