Congress to finalise Seemandhra list today

Hyderabad: The AICC screening committee is scheduled to meet at New Delhi on Friday to finalise the candidates for Seemandhra region. APCC president N Raghuveera Reddy, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, former PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana and other leaders met at the house of Union Minister and campaign committee chairman K Chiranjeevi on Thursday evening and discussed the probable names to be included in the list for the Assembly and the Lok Sabha elections. They would submit the list to the party high command on Friday.

According to Raghuveera Reddy, they have identified candidates for about 150 Assembly seats and the remaining would be selected by Friday. He said they have also shortlisted names for over 20 Lok Sabha seats. The last date for nominations in Seemandhra is April 17. The meeting also discussed about the party manifesto and the issues that need to be incorporated in it. Raghuveera Reddy said the manifesto is likely to be released in the next two or three days.

According to sources, the APCC has finalised Lok Sabha Candidates which includes the names of V Kishore Chandra Deo, Araku, Killi Kruparani Srikakulam, Botcha Jhansi Vizianagaram, Butchi Maheswara Rao Amalapuram, Panabaka Lakshmi Bapatla, Chinta Mohan Tirupati, B Y Ramaiah Nandyal, Thota Vijayalakshmi Anakapalle, Kanmuri Bapiraju Narsapuram, Devineni Avinash Vijayawada, D Pawan Kumar Ongole, Kandula Durgesh Rajahmundry, Vakati Narayana Reddy Nellore, Sai Pratap Rajampet and K Narayana Reddy Nellore. The names for Visakhapatnam and Anantapur are yet to be finalised.

As far as assembly seats are concerned, the APCC has is learnt to have recommended the names of N Raghuveera Reddy for Penugonda, Vinukonda M Mallikarjun, Guntur West Kanna Lakshminarayana, Kavali Ch Venkat Rao, Ongole Sudhakar Reddy, Udayagiri C Babu Yadav, Tenali Nandendla Manohar, Guntur East Mastan Valli, Atmakur Anam Ramanarayan Reddy, Nellore urban AC Subba Reddy and Nellore rural Anam Vijaykumar Reddy.
