Hyderabad: In a major blow to the Congress in Kurnool district, Kodumur MLA P Murali Krishna joined YSRCP in the presence of party president YS Jaganmohan Reddy here on Friday. Murali Krishna is said to be a close confidante of Union Minister of State for Railways K Suryaprakash Reddy. He was assured a party ticket to contest from his native constituency in the upcoming Assembly election. Murali Krishna said he switched loyalties as he was attracted by Jagan’s able leadership and was confident that the YSR Party would win hands down in the Assembly and the General Election in the residuary State of Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, noted educationist and the chairman of Vignan Group of Educational Institutions, L Rathaiah, also joined the party and took the membership from Jagan. Rathaiah said he was confident that the successor State would be effectively developed under the leadership of Jagan only.
Meanwhile, the YSRCP leaders have finalised separate manifestos for Telangana and Seemandhra for the ensuing elections. Jagan would release the manifestos before leaving for poll campaign on Saturday evening. Party leaders said that the manifesto, named as “People’s Manifesto,” would focus on agriculture, women empowerment, employment and infrastructure development in Telangana. The development of capital city and industrial growth would be given top priority in Seemandhra.
