Krishna’s brother joins YSR Congress

Hyderabad: Politics make strange bedfellows, goes the adage. This has once again proved to be true on Sunday as Ghattamaneni Adiseshagiri Rao, film producer and brother of super star G Krishna, joined YSR Congress Party. Rao has been active in the Congress for a long time, particularly during the regime of YS Rajasekhara Reddy. Later, after N Kiran Kumar Reddy became the Chief Minister, he continued to play an active role in the party. YSRCP president YS Jaganmohan Reddy welcomed Rao at his party office. Rao was the State Congress secretary till recently. Talking to the media after joining the party, Rao said that he was attracted by Jagan’s leadership and hence he decided to join the party and strive for its victory. He said he had not decided on contesting the elections. Exuding confidence that the YSRCP would emerge victorious in Seemandhra, he said that the residual State would develop only under the leadership of Jagan. Interestingly, Galla Jayadev, son-in-law of G Krishna, recently joined the TDP and is contesting from Guntur Lok Sabha constituency. He and his mother G Aruna Kumari, who is a former minister, joined the TDP after Parliament passed the T Bill.
