Vijayashanti demands KCR to quit politics

Medak MP Vijayashanti (Ramulamma) demanded that TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao quit politics as he had failed to keep his promise to merge the party with the Congress after the formation of Telangana. “It is KCR’s habit to go back on his promises. He should retire from politics because he did not fulfil the promise made to the Congress,” she said. Addressing the public during her campaigning for the Medak Assembly seat on Thursday for which she filed her nomination papers a day earlier, she alleged that TRS leaders Harish Rao and Padma Devender Reddy had ensured that the benefits of welfare schemes that she had launched during her tenure as MP did not reach the people of the constituency. The funds that she got released for street lighting and water pumps in her constituency were misused by the leaders, she lamented. On this occasion, she reminded the people of her struggle for Telangana. It was ridiculous that the TRS, which was formed recently, was claiming to have struggled for Telangana, she said.
