Balayya assures BC Sub-Plan Act

Srikakulam: The Telugu Desam will introduce an act on the BC Sub-plan. The party alone can ensure uplift of all sections of people, including downtrodden and minorities, film actor and the party’s Hindupur Assembly candidate Nandamuri Balakrishna announced here on Tuesday.

During the second day of his district tour, he went around Etcherla, Pondur and Rajam mandals. Balayya held road-shows in Chilakapalem and Pondur mandal centres and conversed with crowds, including party activists, who earlier gave him a rousing reception. He assured the gathering to include the Kalinga Vysyas in the BC list.

He praised Pondur weavers for their ability in fitting a sari into a match-box. The party, the actor assured, would take care of weavers after coming to power. The district has produced men of eminence like Gowthu Latchanna, K Yerranaidu and Pratibha Bharathi, the first woman Assembly Speaker of Andhra Pradesh. Balakrishna pointed out that the TDP had the distinction of taking the administration (‘Prajala Vaddaku Palana’) to people during days when people’s representatives hesitated to meet them. He hit out at leaders, without naming Tammineni Sitaram, for enjoying power while in Telugu Desam and ‘backstabbing it to join other parties’. People’s interests would be affected if such leaders were elected, he remarked.

Former minister Kala Venkata Rao and partry leaders K Rammohan Naidu and Kuna Ravikumar accompanied the actor.
