According to party sources, he was found unconscious at a mango orchard at Hasanparthy in the district. The party workers rushed him to private hospital in Hanamkonda for treatment. Telangana PCC president Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Warangal MP S Rajaiah, district Congress president N Rajender Reddy, party leaders E Varadarajeshwara Rao, E V Srinivas Rao and others visited him at the hospital.

The doctors at the hospital informed that Sridhar was out of danger and he was given a stomach wash to clear the toxins from his body. His sugar and blood levels were said to be normal. Lakshmaiah, after speaking to the doctors at the hospital, said that Sridhar was stable and would recover soon. The candidate had taken up a hectic campaigning during the past one month under hot sun and that might have made him weak, he said.

However, sources said that financial problems were reportedly the reason for the extreme act. Some of his close associates said he was worried about his poll prospects in the election. The incident triggered a commotion in the district political circle and various comments were being made on the reasons over the contesting candidate’s action on the eve of polling.
