Muzaffarpur: A huge embarrassment for Bihar Chief Minister and Janata Dal United leader Nitish Kumar as party chief Sharad Yadav slammed him for practicing caste-based politics.
With just two phases left for the Lok Sabha elections, Yadav accused Nitish of destroying Bihar by playing caste-based politics. While addressing a rally in Muzaffarpur, Yadav also blamed Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad of failing to rise above caste-based politics.
Yadav said, "Both Lalu and Nitish made the same mistake of practicing caste-based politics. We should try to become good persons, not good politicians."
Yadav defended himself saying, "This is wrong. If you listen to whole speech you will find I have not said anything against Nitish. I was speaking against caste-ism. What I said has been taken otherwise. I said Nitish tried to fight against casteism. The more the media try to create rift between me and Nitish, the relationship will become stronger. Not only me and Nitish everybody is united in the party."
The BJP also took a dig at Nitish for breaking its alliance by saying, "The decision taken by Nitish was because of unreal ambitions and now he is paying the price."
