The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) authorities have invoked the Revenue Recovery (RR) Act for the second time and have confiscated assets, for non-payment of dues, from three defaulters at Dilsukhnagar, on Thursday.

The occupants of Sri Laxmi Enclave, P&T Colony, Dilsukhnagar, were earlier served disconnection notices and a Red Notice. Later Form-I was issued, warning seizure of assets. But still the customers failed to pay the dues of Rs 3,02,790 & Rs 1,08,860 respectively. In another instance, Raksha Multi-Speciality Hospital, Laxminagar, Saroornagar, also failed to pay the dues of Rs 32,680. The authorities invoked the RR Act. Moveable assets, proportionate to the dues, were seized in the presence of Azmeera Krishna, chief general manager (Engg); Mohd Ghulam Ahmed, general manager (Engg) and officials of the Vigilance Wing.

The authorities seized, vehicles, furniture and TV sets. They said that it would be returned to the owners upon payment of the dues. About 216 Form-I notices were issued to the customers so far and authorities warn of similar action in all such cases.

J Syamala Rao, Managing Director of HMWS&SB, said that the board would not tolerate illegal connection holders and defaulters anymore.
