The Mayor was interacting with women belonging to various Self Help Groups (SHGs) in Ahmednagar, on Tuesday. Along with Majid Hussain, Somesh Kumar, Commissioner, GHMC and Rekha Rani, Joint Collector, visited the ward to inspect various developmental programmes in the area.
The Mayor said that a unique project would be taken up on a pilot project basis and the main focus of the project would be women empowerment. “For this project to be successful, it would require the participation of all the NGOs, women SHGs and support from the community,” said Majid Hussain. After the inspection, the officials said that a proposal for a Mee Seva centre in the vicinity would also be taken into consideration.
