Body language is important in an interview, but it's hard to remember to be animated in a video chat interview. The Daily Muse spoke to experts about the do's and don'ts of a Skype interview and an important lesson was to be expressive without being too animated.

"As you're communicating, lean forward," suggests Paul Bailo, author of The Essential Digital Interview Handbook. "This will show interest and concern and will engage your audience. It will also convey eagerness and willingness to listen."

Just be careful not to overdo it. "Even more so than in an in-person interview, avoid excessive physical movements," says celebrity makeup artist Pati Dubroff (think making large hand gestures and wildly nodding or shaking your head). "You'll appear blurry to your interviewer, and none of your facial expressions will be visible."

It's also a good idea to read a newspaper before you start because the change in posture makes you more confident. And yeah, avoid some common negative body language signs.
