Minister for labour and employment Danam Nagender laid the foundation stone for the road development project near Annapurna Studios on Thursday. This project is taken up with an estimated budget of Rs 7.2 crore. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials feel this will help ease the movement of traffic from Banjara Hills Road No 2 to Jubilee Hills Road No 5.

A new Bituminous Tar (BT) road would be constructed along with Reinforced Earth (RE) walls; also there would be a viaduct for the road. The minister said, “With the new road in place there would be considerable savings in terms of travel time and vehicle operation costs. The crux of the project is to reduce the distance and ease traffic congestion.”
The viaduct would also serve as an alternative route when the metro rail corridor would be built in the area.
Also present at the ceremony were Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain , Mamidi Laxmi Bai, Corporator, Jubilee Hills, Somesh Kumar, Commissioner, GHMC; R Dhan Singh, engineer-in-chief, K Siva Parvathi, zonal commissioner, and senior officials from engineering, town planning and health wings.
