National Public Relations Day observed

Prof Sunaina Singh, vice-chancellor, The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), said that parents should be blamed for the deteriorating values among children in the society. She was speaking as chief guest on the occasion of National Public Relations Day organised by the Public Relations Society of India, Hyderabad chapter, on Saturday. The theme of this year’s event was ‘Preservation of Indian Values, Tradition and Culture for Tomorrow’s India’.

Prof. Sunaina Singh said, “Youngsters are not groomed by family members though Indian traditions and values are respected even by foreigners. The parents should blame themselves if a child fails to follow Indian traditions and culture.”

“Don’t hide your identity. You should have the courage to face the world. We should not regret for what we are. Instead we should concentrate and work for what we should become,” she added.

Talking about the state of public relations in the state, Prof. K Sateesh Reddy, secretary, AP State Council of Higher Education, said, “Higher education is very important. Public Relations has been introduced in several universities in the past few years, but unfortunately some colleges in Nalgonda, Srikakulam and Adilabad district don’t even have a single lecturer to teach the subject. Such scenarios should be avoided.”

A patriotic song competition was conducted in Hindi, Telugu and Urdu by the Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FAPCCI) and winners were awarded.
