GHMC’s standing committee elections on June 6. GHMC officials might take a little while to come out of the poll mode. The corporation is preparing for the elections of its standing committee members as per GO no 119 (MA&UD) on June 6.
GHMC officials might take a little while to come out of the poll mode. The corporation is preparing for the elections of its standing committee members as per GO no 119 (MA&UD) on June 6.
After the nominations are filed it would be published to the public and put through scrutiny. On May 28, the final list of valid nominations would be published. The elections would take place on June 6 between 10am and 3pm at the office of the commissioner. The counting and declaration of the polls would take place on the very same day.
Commissioner Somesh Kumar stated that all the voters (the elected members of the GHMC) whose names have appeared in the voters list published on Thursday are eligible to elect the members of the standing committee of the GHMC. As per the GO 59, the standing committee must have minimum of five members and maximum upto 15.
