The minister said, “We are very happy with the way the Ujjaini Mahankali Bonalu celebrations were held. The arrangements at Katta Maisamma temple with regard to queue system, CCTV cameras, parking etc. would be made on the lines of Ujjaini Mahakali temple. The GHMC, APTRANSCO, Water Board and other agencies have been involved to repair roads, ensure place for parking, provide uninterrupted power supply and drinking water, set up ambulance services and medical camps.”

PY Giri, Addl Commissioner of Police, North Zone, said, “400 police personnel have been deployed, of which many are women. Cameras have been set up outside and inside the temple premises to keep a tag on the entry of unsocial elements and ward off any untoward incidents.”

He cautioned the devotees against the use of DJs. “If anybody wants to use a DJ during the jatra, they need to specifically obtain permission from the respective police station,” he said.

The temple would be opened to the public at Sunday midnight. It would be followed by Rangam on Monday.

T Sreenivas, chairman of the temple, said, “According to history, in 1910, this place was known as Miya Kunta (a lake) where Katta Maisamma and Pochamma Goddess were found. K Venkatesh, Ramaiah and Seshiah developed a small temple, which attracted many villagers who started praying to the Goddess for bountiful rains and for eradication of diseases, which were fulfilled.”
