Telangana Police get their logo, The logo was designed by Laxman Aelay, the artist who also designed the Telangana logo.
The Telangana Police have finalised their logo. It has been designed in navy blue colour with the national Emblem of India (four lions standing back to back) in golden colour engraved on the top along with the inscription ‘Telangana State Police’ at the bottom. The words ‘Duty, Honour and Compassion’ have also been inscribed as its slogan.
About 60 designs were initially selected and KCR and DGP Anurag Sharma have finalised this particular logo. The Home Ministry is yet to give its clearance. However, it was learnt that this logo would become effective from August 15 and would be displayed on uniforms and police vehicles.
The logo was designed by Laxman Aelay, the artist who also designed the Telangana logo.
“The logo has the shape of a shield which symbolises a warrior’s first line of defence. It also gives positive energy and understands the emotions of the citizen and enforces a strong will to take positive decisions in the interest of the grieved, suffering and the oppressed,” expressed Laxman Aelay.
The logo has five colors that boost the commitment of the Telangana Police.
The word ‘Police’ in vibrant red colour conveys complete police protection and support to every individual of Telangana. This also symbolises protection round-the-clock.
Black denotes qualities like straightforwardness, authority and power.
Blue represents objectives like peace, tranquility, harmony, order, loyalty, cleanliness and confidence.
Gold symbolises success, achievement, triumph, prosperity, quality, prestige, sophistication, value and elegance.
The nested olive leaves in golden colour signifies lasting peaceful relationships.
Four Asiatic lions with the adage ‘Satyameva Jayate’ signify power, courage, pride and confidence.
Overall the symbol gives a picture of instilling a feeling of security, confidence and peace in the new state of Telangana.
Telangana DGP Anurag Sharma says, “The principles signified through the logos, emblems and uniforms of the department will be put into action also. The emblem signifies the fullest possible services in a prompt, fair and equitable manner to all persons, without discrimination of any kind.”
