This bicycle will cost, hold your breath, Rs 10.6 lakh and has been used in the Tour de France, the toughest bicycle event in the world. It has been vigorously tested in Europe to certify that it is fastest among them all.

Giant’s Propel will be made of carbon fibre, which is commonly used in making Formula 1 racing cars, as well as the Boeing Dreamliner aircraft. This bicycle will be imported from Taiwan in a semi-knocked down condition and will be assembled in India by Starkenn Sports, the entity responsible for marketing Giant bicycles in the country. Giant already has stores in Pune and Bengaluru, and will be adding Delhi and Mumbai this fiscal. According to the company, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh and Chennai will follow suit next fiscal. These bicycles can also be purchased online.

The Indian premium bicycles market is estimated at roughly 2,50,000 units per annum, generating an overall turnover of Rs 100 crore.
