As cyber crimes are on the rise, it has become necessary for newly joined officers to keep up with cyber technology. For this reason an induction programme was conducted by Cyberabad Police on Thursday.

Saddled with the onerous task of striking a balance between containing rising cyber crimes and ensuring security of the residents, the Cyberabad Police has decided to arm its force with modern techniques to break into crime.

Training on various issues connected to cyber crimes, cyber mapping, etc was given. A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) by Commissioner CV Anand on land disputes and police role was discoursed upon. The training programme explained the importance of IT corridor policing and emphasised on safety of women. Modules on security systems, traffic education and welfare of officers were also presented.

Cyberabad Commissioner CV Anand said, “This training is the foundation for life-long learning that prepares new officers for the complexities of policing today and in the future. The programme can be tailored to each agency's unique needs.”

About 40 officers went through the rigorous training programme designed by DCP Janaki Sharmila who is also in charge of the IT cell.
