Hare Krishna Movement-Hyderabad held a Govardhana puja and annakutotsava at its Swayambhu Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy Temple, Banjara Hills, on Friday.

The highlight of the event was a 333 kg replica of Govardhana Hill (Annakuta) made of various food items like annam, halwa, pure vegetarian cake and other edible food items. The hill was marked with various kundas (ponds) like Shyama Kunda, Radha Kunda and other important pilgrimage sites on the Govardhana Parikrama marga.

The programme began with ‘Go-Puja’ i.e. offering Krishna prasadam to cows and calves. It then proceeded to the darshana of the edible replica of Govardhana Hill, followed by a pravachan depicting the importance of Govardhana Lila, then the devotees witnessed a spectacular Govardhana aarti and devotees were given an opportunity to offer ghee lamps to the lord.

A video animation of the pastime of Lord Sri Krishna lifting Govardhana hill enthralled the devotees.

The festivities were presided over by Medak MP K Prabhakar Reddy and Khairatabad MLA C Ramachandra Reddy, TRS politburo member Harishwar Reddy and other dignitaries.
