“With his excellent talent and approach towards public, Sylvester made it to an international platform and gathered an audience for mimicry and ventriloquism,” said Vijayawada MLA Bonda Umamaheswararao, chief guest of the function which was organised by the Vijayawada Cultural Academy.

Umamaheswararao added that felicitations such as these would increase an artist’s reputation.

“It was possible for me to take up mimicry and ventriloquism as a profession only with the blessings of public and art lovers; their support has brought me so far. But there is still a lot to learn in this life. And it is one of my greatest ambitions to conduct workshops to educate young artists in the city,” said Sylvester.

Sylvester then performed a piece for his audience. Students of Ghantasala Pavankumar and Padmashree awardee Hemanth presented classical dance items. Lekhyabharani, Roopalakshmi, Saimanjusha, Tanmayi Naidu, Vandana and Sai Manoj presented impressive items such as “Maheswari Mahakali”, “Anandatandavam”, “Dasavataralu” and “Marakatamanimaya”.

Ambati Madhumohana Krishna, president of the function and MC Das, GV Mohan Prasad, Golla Narayanarao, D Rajasekhar, Mohammad Khaza and R Mohana Krishna attended the event along with a large number of art lovers.
