It was a fascinating spectacle as students enjoyed the occasion thoroughly by dancing and singing. While senior students welcomed newcomers with affection, driving away their initial jitters, juniors too mingled well with them.

Highlight of the day was the rain dance in which hundreds of students danced to thumping numbers in rain and sprinkled colours on each other. Boys and girls danced rhythmically for nearly half an hour under the artificial rain.

Earlier, registrar of the Adikavi Nannayya University Danunjaya Rao inaugurated stalls set up by students including food technology, fashion technology and pharmacy. Students of food technology department setup ‘Foods Street’ in which various recipes were displayed. Fashion technology students set up a stall in which various kinds of garments designed by them were displayed.

Founder chairman of the institution and former MP GV Harsha Kumar released doves as a symbol of freedom. Speaking on the occasion, he called upon the students to excel in their careers and store the happiest moments of their college life as golden memories in the future. He advised the students to mingle well and help each other in building their careers.
