In a bid to educate people about the composition of drugs and their effectiveness in curing various ailments, students of the Kommareddy Venkata Sada Siva Rao (KVSR) Siddhartha College of Pharmaceutical Sciences organised a poster exhibition to mark the 53rd National Pharmacy Week.

In a bid to educate people about the composition of drugs and their effectiveness in curing various ailments, students of the Kommareddy Venkata Sada Siva Rao (KVSR) Siddhartha College of Pharmaceutical Sciences organised a poster exhibition to mark the 53rd National Pharmacy Week.

About 60 poster presentations on the theme ‘Latest Developments in Pharmaceutical Sciences’ were displayed at the expo, which covers topics related to pharmacogonsy, pharma practices, pharmacology, physics and chemistry.

Some of the subjects on which the students competed to win prizes in the poster presentation competition included thin layer chromatography, role of complementary and alternative medicine in geriatric care, good manufacturing practices, ten key elements of the medication use system, analysis of incidence and risk factors of very low birth weight infants, pharmacoeconomics of antibiotics, cost effectiveness and quality of life in poor patients, medication aids, herbal drugs used in gastrointestinal disorders, management of heart attack, most prescribed drugs and their natural counterparts, analysis of anti-dandruff herbal shampoos, cancer causes and treatment, and clinical applications of products.

College principal Garikapati Devala Rao said that the motive of the expo was to inculcate expression and communication skills among the students and to educate people on the effective use of drugs.
