Degree students of Andhra Loyola College celebrated Ethnic Day at Fr Devaiah Auditorium on Tuesday. A cultural extravaganza, ‘Niranjanam - Respecting Respective Culture’, comprising more than 15 cultures, was conducted to mark the occasion. The celebrations also marked the 61st foundation day of the college.

The college resembled a village with the festive atmosphere of Sankranti. The entire premise was richly decorated as per tradition. Colourful huts were erected and rangolis were drawn in front of them. The rangolis were decorated with colours, flowers and ‘Gobbemmalu’. Animals were tethered near huts and poultry birds were seen moving around, reflecting village environs.

The delicacies on display at the venue tickled the taste buds of all visitors, including the college staff, students and their parents. The menu of potluck had a variety of sweets, bisi bela bath, biryani, chicken kebabs among other delicacies.

The college administration ensured that every student attended the event in traditional attire to highlight the theme of Ethnic Day. An ethnic dress competition was also held. The students participated in the competition enthusiastically.

Fr D Ravi Sekhar, correspondent Fr S Raju, degree college vice-principal Fr Arogya Swamy and others were present. Later, prizes were distributed to the best performers and for the best food items.
