Addressing mediapersons at the Airtel office after launching the campaign ‘Each One, Teach One Day’, zonal business manager Ashrit Kumar Pattaniak said that only 25 per cent of mobile phone users in the country were accessing the internet through their handsets though the number of smartphones was quite high.

“Airtel has embarked on the digital literacy campaign through the initiative of `Each One Teach One Day’, where our associates and employees will directly meet customers and educate them about activating the internet on mobile phones using a simple technique `Dial 111'. Our recent launch of ‘One Touch Internet’ is the simplest way for the first time users to learn the internet. Simple and intuitive interface specially designed to make the internet discovery easy for the first time users. The platform is currently available in English, Hindi, Telugu and eight other regional languages,” he said.
