Galla Jayadev, a first-time Member of Parliament from Guntur known for his dynamism and for being the blue eyed boy of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, does his home work thoroughly before attending Parliament sessions. He actively takes part in debates in Parliament and does not skip any session except when he is out of country on official duty. In his constituency, he is accessible to party workers and the people. During the recent winter session of Parliament, he gave notices to raise 160 questions during the Question Hour, but was permitted to pose only 52 questions. He also contributed to debates on 13 national issues and on proposed amendments to Bills. He is said to have raised more number of questions and issues than all his colleagues from Andhra Pradesh State. Jayadev takes his job seriously and evinces interest in participation in debates on serious national issues. He intellectually contributed to debates on amendments of various bills including education reforms, schools plan bill, NREGA scheme bottlenecks and the practical problems of its implementation apart from his contribution to issues relating to Companies Act and regional banks issue.

As an MP, Jayadev strongly advocated for the establishment of ‘Science City’ which would contribute to the scientific temperament in school children. He also pitched for introduction of a direct train from Guntur touching many coastal districts of AP to benefit members of Parliament from AP State. He also demanded stopover of Golconda and Circar express trains at Mangalagiri and Pedakakani in the district. He also made an impassionate plea to set up a ‘Chillies Board’ as the district has the largest acreage of chilly crop. Jayadev was part of an official delegation along with the Chief Minister to Singapore and Japan countries. The MP is also advocating the harnessing of solar power on a massive scale by inviting promoters to the district. He is also appealing to the people to set up roof top solar panels and generate solar power to take care of domestic requirement of power and also contributing to power grid at a house hold level. Jayadev says that his quest is to make a mark as a people’s representative both inside and outside the Parliament.
