Nissan Sway concept unveiled at Geneva; may become the next-gen Micra

Nissan has showcased a fantastic futuristic Concept small car called as Sway at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show. The elegantly styled Sway concept gives us a glimpse of how future Nissan cars will look.The car, though primarily aimed for the European market, will be able to find a home in any city of the world, thanks to its contemporary swooping design layout which at the same time carries a urbane demeanor in a rather charming way.

The exterior gets a V motion front grille, boomerang shaped elongated head lamps, a floating roofline, and a short C pillar inspired from the Lannia concept showcased in Beijing last year. The bonnet too gets bold contours. The rear end continues to have boomerang shaped tail lamps with twin trapezoid exhaust pipes at either side of the registration plates. The floating roof imagery is well complimented with the use of glass. The full glass roof extends from the A pillar and is supported by a deformed X shaped structure. This whole contraption lends a very sophisticated imagery to the car.

The interiors get a darker shade of blue with contrasting ivory and orange colours. The three spoke steering wheel has dollops of simplicity, with a squared off bottom section and aluminium spokes. The driver has to look at only two basic instruments, while all the other functions can be controlled from a large trapezoidal tablet in the centre of the dashboard which is visible and usable by both driver and front passenger.

At 4,010 mm of length, 1,780 mm width, 1,385 mm overall height and wheelbase of 2,570mm, it is a fairly large hatchback which looks futuristic. The more interesting word out there, not an official Nissan communication, is that the Sway may be previewing the Next-Gen Micra!
