A rich tribute to saint composers.The three-day Vaggeyakara Aradhanotsav concluded at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College on Monday. Eminent musicians paid rich tributes to Vaggeyakaras by rendering their keerthanas.

The three-day Vaggeyakara Aradhanotsav concluded at Ghantasala Venkateswara Rao Government Music and Dance College on Monday. Eminent musicians paid rich tributes to Vaggeyakaras by rendering their keerthanas.The event was inaugurated by Popuri Gowrinath on Saturday. TS Ramachandra Rao attended the inaugural programme as a chief guest. Later, N Ch Butchaiah Charyulu, a lecturer of the college, presented a melodious vocal concert. He rendered the keerthanas of Annamayya, Ramadasu, Tiruvenkatacharyulu, Krishnamacharyulu, Sreenivasa Iyengar and others. He was supported by P Nandakumar on violin, Kalyanaraman on mridangam and Stephen Raj on ghatam.

A violin solo by Vishnubhotla Krishnaveni marked the second day of the music festival. She played the compositions of Kottavasal Venkatarama Iyer, Deekshitar, Thyagaraja Swamy, Mysore Vasudevachar, Purandara Dasa and others during her impressive violin recital.Manda Krishnamohan presented a vocal concert on the final day. He rendered 13 keerthanas of Deekshitar, Swathi Thirunal, Thyagaraja, Kunnakudi Krishna, Jayadeva, Purandara Dasa, Thanjavur Sankara Iyer, Sadasiva Brahmam and Mangalampalli Balamuralikrishna during his enchanting vocal concert. He was ably supported by Palaparthi Nageswara Rao on violin, M Vijaya Kumar on mridangam and Hari Babu on ghatam.
