‘Supernova 15', a two-day national level symposium of the Civil Engineering Department, concluded at SRKR Engineering College on Saturday.Speaking at the valedictory of the symposium, Sunflower Engineering College director JV Narasimha Raju underlined the role of civil engineers in infrastructure development, which is vital for the economic growth of a nation.
“Focus should be laid on developing innovative and cost-effective civil engineering technologies to reduce the gestation period of major construction projects,” he said.College principal D Ranga Raju exhorted civil engineering students to choose major construction projects for their field studies to get practical knowledge in the subject and better exposure.
Head of Department of Civil Engineering M Jagapathi Raju presided. Symposium faculty advisor V Rama Raju and others were present. Prizes were distributed to the winners of various competitions organised as part of the symposium.
