The Toyota Corolla is one of the most famous cars in the world and has been making owners happy ever since it was introduced in 1966. There on, there was no stopping the Corolla which managed to become the best-selling car worldwide by 1997 and has continued to rule the roads since then. The Toyota Corolla outsold the iconic Volkswagen Beetle to claim the best-selling crown. In July 2013, Toyota reached a phenomenal milestone of 40 million Corollas sold worldwide over its eleven generations.

The eleventh generation of the Corolla went on sale in Japan in May 2012 and managed to reach our shores in the subsequent year. The current generation Corolla received significant changes to its interior and exterior styling, which has helped it become the number one selling sedan in the D-segment, surpassing the Hyundai Elantra. The Toyota Corolla continues to look fresh with its sporty yet premium styling and is not due for a facelift anytime soon.

A Chinese website has come up with spy shots of the facelifted eleventh generation Corolla. The pictures reveal the front and rear end of the facelift with quite a few design changes. The amount of chrome used in the front bumper seems to have reduced by quite an extent. Vertically stacked DRLs are found in place of fog lights in a trapezoidal front bumper. There changes featured at the rear of the vehicle includes clear lens tail lamps, a fixed spoiler and a longer rear bumper with black cladding towards the bottom which now also houses the rear reflectors.

Interiors of the facelift may continue to remain the same except for the use of better materials and more features. The Corolla caught in the spy shots may also be a new variant due to the ‘X’ badge present in the rear of the vehicle. No additional information is available at the moment but stay tuned to MotorBeam for latest updates regarding the same.
