Hyderabad got up early on Sunday to relish hot donuts served by David Coulthard on the fastest machine on earth. Having a six cylinder engine under his driving seat, David sprinted through a stretch on Tank Bund. Before David took to road with his Formula One, 21-year-old Aras Gibieza took his tuned two-wheeler, (though most of the time he was on a single wheel) and performed some eccentric stunts to build tempo among audience.

Nagarjuna Akkineni flagged off the Formula One Showrun. The MC and Nagarjuna warned the audience to put on their earplugs, but who would want to do that? The snarl of a Formula One is something no one will afford to miss. As promised, David clocked a speed of 282 kmph on the beast, not once, but twice, besides burning tires and doing some donuts. To do it on such a small stretch is impressive and challenging and why not? After all he is a Grand Prix champion.

Amidst all this, what was disappointing was that the excitement didn’t last long. The car made its way up and down for a short while. For a once in a lifetime event, people obviously expected more. However, the day was something no Hyderabadi will forget in his life. Post the showrun, David took hold of the tricolour and boarded a Mini Cooper, this time not on the driver’s seat, and waved it to the audience. And, that’s how an energy fueled morning came to an end.
