Educated women must come forward to teach

Being a woman itself is a great achievement. Women should not impose restrictions or confine themselves to a single field. They should explore and excel in every field. Art and craft are something women are naturally gifted with.

Making wise use of talent and creativity enables them to scale career heights,’’ said Doordarshan Director Sailaja Suman, while inaugurating a two-month vocational training camp for women at Sri Durga Malleswara Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala in the city on Friday.

She opined that every woman should be educated and educate others for the development of society.Education necessarily need not be academics. Vocational training is also good and useful to them to achieve self-reliance,’’ she said, lauding the Siddhartha Mahila Kalasala management for organising the camp.

The courses offered at the camp include tailoring, weaving, sari rolling, glass painting, mehndi decoration, clay modeling, paper and hand bag making and beautician courses. Certificates would be given away to the participants after successful completion of the courses.JSS Director V Srinadh, Mahila Kalasala principal T Vijaya Lakshmi, Entrepreneurship Development Cell convener K Sudha Rani and others were present.
