Addressing a one-day orientation programme of the treasury officials staff of Krishna and Guntur districts, Hanumantha Rao said, “The heads of the government departments, including District Rural Development Agency (DRDA), Divorced Women Against Marriage Association (DWAMA) and other wings, handle funds under welfare programmes through the personal deposits.

The corporations and societies too would come under this category.” He wanted them to keep the funds released under the welfare programmes in the personal deposits. Expenditure under the welfare schemes should be deposited in the PD using the online facility. The officials would have to use the online facility for withdrawal of funds.

Hanumantha Rao said that the departments were spending 30 to 40 per cent of the welfare scheme funds through the PD accounts. With the online facility, which would be connected to the State treasury, the heads of departments, corporations and agencies would now have to provide information online and withdraw funds.

He said that the government had already issued directions to all the district Collectors. The government was ready to implement the online facility from May 1.He directed officials to make payments to individual beneficiaries of welfare schemes through the online facility.

Treasury deputy directors K Surendra Babu and N Nageswara Rao, CRDA deputy director K Paleswara Rao, additional director K Achyuta Ramaiah, Vijayawada district treasury officer K D V M Prasad Babu and other officials were present.
