Hyundai updates Santa Fe. Hyundai India has silently updated two new features on its flagship Santa Fe SUV, expanding the model’s tech list even further.

Hyundai India has silently updated two new features on its flagship Santa Fe SUV, expanding the model’s tech list even further. Updated for the 2015 model year, the premium SUV gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system equipped with navigation, voice assist as well as DVD/USB/AUX-in/Bluetooth/iPod connectivity and also automatic headlamps for the 2015 model year.

There are no changes to the cosmetics of the SUV or the powertrain in this update.Both the new features are available only on the automatic variants of the 2015 Santa Fe. The base manual variant continues to get the older 4.3-inch TFT LCD touchscreen unit with a host connectivity options. All the variants retain the 6-speaker system from the outgoing model.

Hyundai India is marketing the new 8-inch unit as the largest in the segment and will also provide free map updates for three years from the time of purchase. The features albeit small were a necessary addition to the SUV, especially considering the fact that Hyundai already gives it on the much smaller i20 in its lineup.

In terms of power, the 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe uses the 2.2-litre four-cylinder CRDi diesel engine producing 197 PS and 429 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox with 2WD; whereas the 6-speed automatic variant available in 2WD and AWD options gets a peak torque of 449 Nm.

The SUV rides on 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels and comes with a plethora of safety features including front, side and curtain airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, Hill Start Assist, Vehicle Start Assist and a whole lot more.
