Drinking water woes of the Secunderabad Cantonment Board (SCB) seem to end soon as underground water pipelines are being laid in the Cantonment area. “Our hardwork seems to finally pay off after a lot of struggle. Works of laying pipelines to supply drinking water have commenced and it will be be completed within 15 days. Soon, water will be released to all the residents,” says Bhanuka Narmada, former vice president of SCB.


“Nadamuri Nagar is struggling for drinking water for more than two-and-a-half decades. The colony residents are likely to get water connections, which would end the drinking water woes of residents,” Bhanuka Narmada added. She also requested SCB CEO Sujatha Gupta to levy Rs 5,000 as connection charges and Rs 100 as monthly water charges as the basti consists of poor and weaker sections of the society.

“The issue represented to ex-principal director general Ashok several times for the past four years has finally yielded results with the support of ward members and CEO. SCB residents are very happy with the commencement of water works,” Bhanuka Narmada concluded.
