A stage full of talent. Rendu Nissabdala Madhya’ was adjudged the best playlet in the five-day playlet contest on Wednesday.

Rendu Nissabdala Madhya’ was adjudged the best playlet in the five-day playlet contest on Wednesday. Organised by Nagarjuna Kala Parishad at Kondapalli, the competition was held in memory of Praja Kavi Sunkara Satyanarayana and renowned director T Krishna.

A total of eight social playlets were staged during the competition. `Rendu Nissabdala Madhya’ playlet also won the prize for the best script writer (Sistla Chandrasekhar) and best actor (Ravindra Reddy). Anaganaga directed by R Vasu was the runner up. It fetched Vasu the best director award besides bagging away awards for the best stage design and best makeup.

`Dongalu’, staged by a cultural association of Karimnagar was adjudged the third best playlet. K Vijayalakshmi who performed the role of a mother, won the best actress award. It also bagged the best music award.

Other winners included Jana Ramaiah for best villain, R Adiseshaiah for best character artiste and CN Prasad for best supporting actor. Three special jury awards were also presented. Noted musician Seetharam was felicitated on the occasion.
