One of the more underrated open world action games of last generation, Just Cause 2, is finally seeing a sequel. The appropriately titled Just Cause 3 will see a release in "holiday 2015" as per its first gameplay trailer.

Just Cause 3 has been developed by Avalanche Studios, responsible for earlier games in the Just Cause series and for the upcoming Mad Max game a post-apocalyptic vehicular combat video game which is incidentally set in an open world environment.

Nonetheless, a fictional Mediterranean island known as Medici will be home to Just Cause 3. Medici is home to series protagonist Rico Rodriguez who returns to wrest control of it from brutal dictator General Di Ravello.

The trailer showed off the gorgeous mayhem packed with explosions, crashes and over-the-top action that's possible in game. Interestingly though, it plans to buck the trend of microtransactions that have plagued most new AAA games like Mortal Kombat X.

"To be perfectly clear: Just Cause 3 will be available in 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. It will be distributed as a retail box and digital download. It is not a Free To Play game. It does not feature in-game micro transactions," said Christofer Sundberg Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer of Avalanche Studios in a press release late last year.

"Does that mean we'll release the game and call it quits? Nope. Beyond launch, we are likely to look into DLC packs and items as part of our ambition to support Just Cause 3 and its players for many years to come, but until that time we're completely focused on making the best Just Cause game we possibly can. Rest assured it will be a huge, fully packed and extremely rewarding experience right out of the gate."

From an India standpoint, Just Cause 2 did reasonably well. However at the time it cost Rs. 699 on PC and Rs. 2,499 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Fast forward to now and you'll be paying Rs. 1,799 for the game on PC and Rs. 3,499 on PS4 and Xbox One. How much of a success it will be this time around, remains to be seen.
