RTC Employees union leader of Repalle depot Kamalakar have appealed to the State Government to treat RTC employees on par with its own employees and recognise their services. Participating in the RTC employees agitation at their depot on Thursday, Kamalakar stated that they were the ones who are directly serving the people by taking them to their destinations and ensuring their safe travel.
He regretted that the government is adopting a rigid attitude towards them and treating them as second class workers. He demanded that the government consider payment of 43 per cent fitment charges as part of a pay package to them. Several union leaders spoke about denouncing the government's rigid posture towards them. Police were present in large numbers to ensure peace and safety of RTC buses and property.
